This post made me think about the interaction of language between relationships and textiles in out lives. We might work to mend old bonds by patching things up with a sibling much in the same way we patch over a tear in a shirt.
I was just looking back on all the bits I jotted down from Poetic Cloth and this one jumped out at me, "One of the distinctive qualities of cloth is the way it wears out and breaks down; the fragility of gently deteriorating cloth seems to make it even more precious and worthy of preserving." I like the way she thinks about things.
